OMV adds to its product’s range a new high-speed portal-type machining center model ROLLER MEGA. Linear motors control all the axes movements. All the sliding takes place on integral linear roller guides in the three axes that reach a feedrate of 60000 mm/1'. The head, with one continuous working axis and one positioning axis (two continuous working axes optional), is driven by a torque motor and is equipped with an 18000 rpm motorspindle with a power of 29 kW, tiltable in the transverse axis of ±110°. The longitudinal and cross movement guides are protected by heat-sealed bellows and by telescopic steel protections. The machine is equipped with a tool magazine without exchanging arm, with 42 or 84 tools, positioned outside the working area. The chips evacuation takes place through two endless screws that send them in a dredging conveyor with side exit. The fairing with tunnel opening solution leaves the table completely free for loading.
